Morning all few 'muppets questions' 1. How do you add step climbs. EG. Initial cruise FL180 then a few WP's later Climb to FL320...IS this the correct way? 2. Can you auto start pf3_display.exe when you connect to SIM? Thanks Clive |

The cruise altitude for your flight plan is your final cruise altitude, in this case FL310. If you want to level off at, say, FL270 during climb, enter it as your first waypoint altitude and all altitudes until you want to resume climbing. This does NOT mean you will be at FL270 at your first waypoint; PF3 will step you up to FL270 and level you off there. After you cross DEPAD, PF3 will resume climbing you to FL310. You can enter several step-climbs this way on long-haul flights. We'll need to ask Dave about your #2. |

In addition to Dan's post you don't have to enter step climbs at all. If you simply load the flight plan PF3 will enter your cruise altitude into the first and subsequent waypoints entries, up to the point of TOD. But ATC will not just instruct you to climb to your cruise altitude, instead PF3 will automatically give you step climbs. As for #2 there's no way to get PF3 to auto start PF3 Display but you could of course use FSUIPC for that. This would be particularly useful should you want to run PF3 Display on a different PC than PF3 |

Hi Dave In my example the imported .pln only has the 1st altitude and not aware of the step climbs as per the OFP(PFPX). In this case the step was to FL320 starting the step at VAL, that is why I started the 'NEW' ALt at VAL. Is this the correct way to achieve the step climb process? Thanks |

Just load your flight plan into PF3 and fly.... you don't HAVE to do anything to achieve step climbs as PF3 will handle it for on on-the-fly (excuse the pun) |
