Hi
Initially I had the error message that the sim cannot connect with error code 2146232576-240 and did the register exe as directed. This did not help and Reading on these forums the issue appeared to be directx. I installed directx from a link within the forum and updated to the latest version of FSUIPC. the problem I now have is that when I connect to the sim the window pf3 window shuts down . if I open it, it appears to be connected but nothing is displayed, no text window for example?
Thank you.

The first thing to do is to run the PF3 Validation program. Select Options #2 then 'Validate your PF3 Installation' and follow the prompta. Please attach the resulting log to your post.

Next, please open the PF3.INI file in Notepad and look for the UseSkins= entry in the [System] section and change it to UseSkins=0. Resave PF3.INI then try PF3 again to see if things look better. If they do, and subject to me checking your Validation Log my 'guess' would be your AV is messing about with the PF3 install.... but we'll see

Hi Dave
Done as you instructed.
Still no luck I am afraid.

Cheers.

Ah, I may have misread your post. So PF3 runs okay and you can select a flight plan and then hit 'Connect'. Is that correct?

At that point PF3 wouldn't/shouldn't disappear as such but it does allow FS to come to the foreground so PF3 could then be sitting behind the FS window.

Have you tried tuning to Clearance and then using Hotkey #0 to make contact? Better still you can configure PF3 to automatically tune to Clearance if you wish

Just had another look at your log and it's telling me you need to install those DirectX runtimes that you say you have installed. Forgive me for asking but are you sure you installed them and not just extracted them... it's been done before? You need to unzip, extract and then run DXSetup as Administrator (right-click and select Run as Administrator)

You ran the DXSetup program? Did you get any messages?

If you use Teamviewer I could take a look at your system if you would like me to. Unfortunately, I'm about to leave home shortly and won't be able to do anything till tomorrow, if that helps.
