Hi

Tried to perform a short flight to test with FS2020 seemed to be going OK until I got I think an ACARS message stating PF3 in demo mode will pause evry 15 minutes and to cancel message to continue. FS2020 was obvioulsy in active pause state. I closed message box as instructed but that was it and nothing I could do could get FS2020 out of active pause. Even when I disconnected PF3 I could not get out of active pause state. had to just kill the sim.

I was just going to run the flight to the end see what happened and at the time this issue happened I think I was way past TOD. Also I had "Pause Immediately before TOD" just to see what happened in FS2020.

My PF3 is not in demo mode or at least it shouldn't be and I installed update when prompted to in the PF3 UI available update check.

Have in included log files

Firstly, thank you for a clear and concise description of the problem AND for including the log files. I wish everyone would follow suit as it really does make my life a lot easier... I'm fast approaching 71 and need to be handled with care!

The DEMO message that popped up was clearly wrong and that's been removed ready for the next update, later tonight or sometime tomorrow. However, the issue that concerns me is you say you couldn't get out of the pause state. I know the pause flags in earlier versions of FS2020 were somewhat inconsistent and couldn't really be relied upon but I thought that had been addressed. So how were you trying to 'resume' your flight exactly?

Yes as an ex software developer and development project manager I am all too aware of receiving emails marked ***URGENT ** URGENT ** URGENT *** and the body text just saying "It doesn't work".

Anyway I tried pressing the keyboard Pause key and also tried clicking the Active Pause button on FS2020 toolbar, but nothing worked.

Before I disconnected PF3 there was amessage scrolling up on PF3 UI that "FS2020 is Paused or in Menu Mode"

I will try the flight again and report back to you on what happens this time.

PS I really like the Remove Waypoint function. It solves the biggest moan I had with PF3.

Ah, did you try the Escape key? PF3 places FS into the Sim Pause which takes you back to the menu screen. You should be able to either hit Escape or select 'Resume' with the mouse.

I still have the flight running just now so tried ESC but when I resume I am still locked in Active Pause

OK Dave, This is being caused by the Pause At setting.

3rd attempt at flight but this time I unchecked the Pause at TOD. Altjhough I can't completely remove the Pause at setting so I set it down to 10miles from runway and sure enough at 10 miles from runway I got the same message was locked into active pause.

I think the Pause At TOD feature is pretty important especially during long flights, but I would much rather it switched FS2020 back to the menu rather than go into Active Pause as in Active Pause you are still burning fuel if ~I am not mistaken

I will try one more time because I been using the Fly By Wire Mod A320 NEO for all these flights and so just in case I will use a default A/C

I have only had the program 'five minutes' so I am still learning, alot!

I have selected within PF3 the option to pause before TOD, which MSFS 2020 does but trying to unpause to desend is the problem. I have tried the esc option of MSFS 2020, I have tried the active pause and unpause option of MSFS2020, neither of which are working.

I am using the A320 flybywire development version

H iRob,

PF3 places the sim into the Real Pause mode that requires you to assign pause on and pause off keys... there's no toggle. On my system I use 'P' for ON and Ctrl+P for OFF.

I guess I ought to document that somewhere
