| While I am able to see the text communications with ATC, I am not able to hear any voice communication between PF3 and MSFS 2020. 1. I am running the latest PF3 3.10.0. 2. I have installed the DirectX Runtimes as suggested in the FAQ 3. I made sure that SOUNDS, Communications tab is set to DO NOTHING. I have also toggled between these settings and applied just in case. 4. When I check voices inside PF3 to choose the pilot voice, I can hear it without issue. NOTE: While I am NOT using MCE during the above tests, I do want to mention I did try MCE with PF3 and MSFS 2020. When I did do this, MCE voices come through without issue. Also, MSFS 2020 ATC voices come through without issue. I also set PF3 to hear a sound when a PF3 compatible key is pressed and I do hear a system sound. PF3 does display the interaction between PF3 and ATC correctly when pressing the appropriate keys. I simply cannot hear any voice from PF3 or from ATC. |

| Well everything points to this being a problem caused due to the missing DirectX End-User Runtimes. I know you say you've installed them and forgive me for asking what could be deemed a ridiculous question, but did you definitely install them and not just extract them to you system? I have had someone before who just extracted the files and didn't actually run the DXSetup. |

| I wanted to update you. I found the problem and I am up and running with both ATIS and SOUNDS via PF3. It was my Anti-Virus. Here’s how I solved it: 1. I turned off my anti-virus. 2. I rebooted (a requirement of my anti-virus). 3. I uninstalled PF3 and the PF3 Runtimes. 4. I rebooted. 5. With my anti-virus still turned off, I reinstalled PF3 and PF3 runtimes. 6. I then reinstalled DirectX (2006). 7. I excluded the complete FS_Addons folder in my anti-virus. 8. I rebooted and tested PF3. Everything worked. My sounds were there, the ATIS worked, all was good. 9. I then reactivated my anti-virus and rebooted (a requirement of my anti-virus). 10. I retested MSFS2020 with PF3 and confirmed all continued to work as designed. I thought I would report for the next person who runs into this. |
