Hey Dave,

First let me say thanks for all the effort to you and your team on the latest update to PF3. Can't fly without it!!!. I am currently still flying on FSX (I know heresy :), but with closed caption off, the caption text continues to display. I was wondering if that was intended as it defeats the purpose of being able to turn it off. I know in the new update there was a change for P3D and MS2020 users (In-Sim windows suite) for this to display all the time depending on settings. In the previous version if CC was off you would receive messages from PF3 on states (ie VCP modes etc) which to me was no problem, but no ATC message popups. From a realism standpoint (my opinion only) those ATC message popping up are a bit distracting and affects immersion. Am I missing something in a setting somewhere?

Thanks again for a great product

Tony J

Hi Tony,

Just checked and it all runs fine here with closed captions OFF and no popup messages in the FS window at all!

Please ZIP and attach your PF3.INI file from the main PF3 folder

Dave,

Here's the requested file. I flew today and the same thing occurs. FYI, I'm also running MCE and Sim Randomizer if that helps.

Thanks again for checking

Thanks for the file Tony... now you have me really stumped!

I've just used your INI file, so my PF3 is running with exactly the same settings as you, and running FSX... with NO closed caption messages appearing in the FS Message window!

Hey Dave,

Tried another flight today, this time with no MCE or Sim Randomizer, and the issue continues. I'm as baffled as you. I can say that my regular flying partner says he has the same issue. Our setups are almost identical.

Tony J

btw, it occurs with FSUIPC multiline display checked or unchecked. The only way I can get it to totally go away is with FSUIPC multiline display unchecked and suppress multiline in FS's window checked.

Thanks again,

Tony J

And this is the default FS message window that's appearing?

Please zip and attach the debug_monitor.log file from your PF3\Logs folder... it might show me something

My normal setup was with FSUIPC multiline display checked, with it unchecked the FS green scroll bar appeared with the continued text. If I suppress then nothing appears. Using FSUIPC 4.939g Mar 2015 registered version.

So where's the PF3 text appearing... in the FSUIPC Window?

Correct. with FSUIPC multiline display checked, with it unchecked the FS green scroll bar appeared with the continued text. If I click suppress FS window then nothing appears.

Okay I've found the problem. The reason I couldn't recreate it here initially was because you have to have MCE set to 'Active' in the PF3_MCE.INI file in addition to turning the Closed Captions OFF in PF3. You could test this yourself by turning the MCE 'Active' off (eg. set it to zero).

I will be releasing 3.10.1 either later tonight or sometime tomorrow... you can get it by hitting the 'Check for Updates' or downloading the complete cumulative updates package, but obviously the former is recommended. I'll announce the release on the forum here as usual once it's available.
