I am at the end of day two, moving XP11 to Windows 10 (reluctantly, in readiness for XP11.50). I have spent these two (full) days, not flying, but troubleshooting one issue after another (as I manage to fix one, a new one is likely to appear) - and I am really, really weary of it now. Just to put this post into context! :-)

BTW, the plugin PfeToXplane seems to be running OK.. it is connecting X-Plane to PF3. (I have run it for two years or more in X-Plane + Windows 7, with no problem).

Still have some problems to sort out with PF3, which I had to reinstall. The main two are:

1. No voices, only onscreen text messages in the sim - the COM log (PF3 display) shows ATC messages OK too. But all in silence. No error messages when I connect PF3.

2. Remote Text shows as 'waiting for connection', even though PF3 is connected.

Hope someone can advise, 'cos with all the errors and problems I've had (most not with PF3 of course!) and the hour after hour of fruitless Googling, I am thinking of finding a different hobby! :-)

Thanks.

I don't know if my memory is getting worse as I get older...
...I just can't remember how it used to be!

Oops, yes: sorry! I attach all logs created today and yesterday.

Remote text still shows 'waiting for connection'
pf3_display also does not seem connect - no COM data in the window for any airport for example.
No ATC or pilot voices...

As you know, I reinstalled PF3 yesterday. I don't get any error messages when I connect PF3..

Thank you!

Not sure if you've sent the wrong logs but there are no transcript messages at all, not even textural ones

Odd... I'll try again. If I open the zip file I sent and open the logs, they appear to be full of text, as usual.

Yes they are but I meant you hadn't sent a log with any ATC transmission in and you said you could see the text but couldn't hear any sound

Oh, I see. OK, I hope these are better. I get an onscreen box (red writing), giving ATC instructions. I don't seem to be able to respond.. I press the associated key to confirm, but it's not received apparently? I keep getting the same taxi instruction.

Still no voices at all.. and Remote text doesn't connect (just to summarise!). The com log window does work though.. the ATC text comes up there. Nothing in PF3 display..

Third time lucky with log files...

That's better. The reason you're not getting any ATC sound is you're missing DirectX for Managed Code runtimes... you can download and install from HERE

You also seem to have an issue with one or more of your data files. Have you run MakeRwys? Or whatever it is you do with XPlane?

I did remember to install the files from 'PF3 runtimes' before posting here, so that's odd. I'll try again using the linked file you've given (may not be the same??).

I'll redo MakeRwys and post back. Many thanks Dave.
