I believe I've found the culprit causing your problems. I won't bore you with the details. I've released it to the beta guys who will hopefully be running with it as soon as possible, but it's not something they can really test, so it's more of a regression test to ensure I haven't broken the standard step climb/descents. One thing I can say is if you were using VCP mode 2 or 3 the problem wouldn't occur. Until the fix is released you just need to ensure you action any control handoffs as quickly as possible.
