HI, Just installed the new update to 3.80 for PF3 on Win7 (FS version 2004). Each time I try to save the flight plan I receive the message "Irregular climb profile" and, of course, I cannot go any further with PF3 planning or even use it for flights. Stopped and restarted PC, tried to save previous already validated and approved flight plans on former version but get now the same error message. Have I done something wrong? Didn't see any specific comment about this on upgrade history doc. See enclosed screen copy... Slightly upset now... Regards, George |

Yes there does appear to be a problem here, which I have now fixed and will release sooner rather than later if it causes too many problems. However, the simple workaround is NOT to change the first waypoint's altitude. In fact it is recommended you leave the climb profile to PF3 for best result but if you're simply wanting to change the cruise altitude for your flight then I would suggest doing that at source.... at least until the next release. |

Hi Dave, Yeap, I found the solution myself but wanted to test it with other flight plans, just to be sure before giving the solutions to the other folks who would be facing the same issue. It works ok if no modification added between take off point and cruise level. Thanks for your quick and valuable answer as usual... I'll be waiting for next pgm release. Regards, George. |

Hi, I don't think this workaround will work if your first waypoint is the end of your SID and you want to constrain the altitude at that point? Bill |

Well you will have to assume ATC have given you clearance to climb above the SID altitude, which of course can and does happen at times. SIDs of course are (partially) designed for relieving some of the heavy workload from ATC and if other traffic permits they can even be terminated early. |

Hi Dave, So, what you are saying is delete all the SID altitude restraints from your flightplans and hope ATC clears you to a high enough FL to miss the mountains. If they don't, just ignore ATC and go higher!? Bill |

The first waypoint XXX has a higher altitude than RTT. You need to set the first XXX at the same or lower altitude than RTT. Check manual adjustments on the right side, and then you can select and change the first XXX to 9500 or something lower. |
