Very interesting approach! As to any rule, there always is an exception (rules without exceptions are exceptional itself and thus covered by this rule). Using your own arrival procedure (STAR, transition, or however you want to call it) is the best here, as originally said. If you want to get vectored (which seems unrealistic here), you could try one of the following: 1. using the IAF altitude (FL150) instead of the FAF altitude here, and set the FAF (IAF) distance accordingly (35 NM?) 2. Include additional waypoints with manually set altitudes for the approach, the last waypoint being the FAF (or very close to the FAF) But your nautical mileage may vary |
