Hi:

I recently purchased PFE. I'm running Vista and FSX. I have had a couple problems from the get go. First off... the PFE ATIS. Some flights I get it, but most I do not. Why? Is there a solution?

Second, every time I go to disconnect from FSX, the program crashes. Any solutions?

Thanks
David

Hi David,

First things first. What version of PFE are you running?

Well, for there to be a solution there needs to be a problem which I'm aware... but in this case I'm not.

When you say 'some flights' you get it but others you don't is not really very helpful. An idea of your routing and the ATIS frequency you are tuning too would be helpful, together with emailing the debug_monitor.log file from your PFE\Folder, otherwise I have no idea where to start looking. Also are you sure you are near enough to the facility to actually be able to tune to ATIS? Have you tried the ACARS facility? What happens exactly when you tune to ATIS? Do you hear any static?

What crashes? FSX or PFE?

What happens exactly and what message (if any) do you get?

What OS are you using?

Which version of FSUIPC are you using?

Ole,

Well since I haven't heard back from the original poster there is no solution because as far as I'm concerned there is no problem.

If you have the same issues perhaps you could answer the same questions I asked the original poster and send me a supporting debug_monitor.log file.

OK, and hi Dave,

To make a long story short I hade these problem earlier:viewtopic.php?f=4&t=147.
It seem to be solved now. I did get the Windows 7 instead. But then I hade to reinstall all my FS again, and it worked afterwoods.

But back to now,

I got the PFE v.2.6.0
'Some flights' I don't know which. Sometime I get to hear the ATIS, and sometime not. Last time I tuned into the freq.124.95 at eddb (parked at the gate) it tells me to tune in to ATIS first.( that is just what I tryed!!! :?:  )

Second
When disconnecting from FSX the PFE crashes. It comes out with a message-window saying: "Allows you to connect FSX to PFE stopped working. A problem courses the ....

At last I use the 4.30v of fsuipc.

I've mailed the log to you.

cheers

Ole D.

Ole,

You are using a very old and unsupported version of PFE (2.6.0). The latest and only supported version is 2.11.1. Please update then try again. If you still find you have problems then come back to us.

Thank you for the timely reply, and apologies for my delayed response.

My problems are very similar to Ole's. First off, more information on my systems:

Windows Vista
FSX
FSUIPC v4.57
PFE 2.6.0

Regarding the ATIS. Exactly as Ole has described, ATIS works on some flights, not others. I tune to the appropriate freq and hear nothing usually... airports including KMIA, KATL, KLAX, etc. I have heard it at KSBA... with static and appropriate voice, but otherwise, nothing. And yes, I'm always in range, on the appropriate freq, etc. (I'm a pilot in "real life" so I understand how ATIS works.)

Regarding the PFE crashing... happens after every flight when I go to disconnect. I get the exact same error message Ole is reporting. It requires me to restart PFE every time.

You have mentioned updating PFE... and I would love to. However, every time I go to update (click on 'check for updates), I get 1sec of the windows "circle" indicating the computer is processing... and then nothing. If you could tell/show me how to update and get v 2.11.1... I would LOVE to have it. Also note, I have disabled all firewalls, User Account Control, etc, but still no luck updating. The only time I have been able to update is with the initial installation when it upgrades from 2.0 -- the original download file the I received with purchase.

I have emailed you the debug monitor log.

I would very much like to use this program, so any thoughts, assistance, ideas you could provide would be tremendous.

Thank you again for your help and insight. It is very much appreciated.
Dave

Hi again,
I have made the updates and it seem to work just fine. I just try a litlle flight, and everything is running perfectly. :D

Thank you very much for the help, Dave and Patrick.

Now I just got one problem left. And maybe it has been solved, I don't know yet. When I've been flying for about a litlle hour or so, The FSX shot down.
But I haven't try such a long flight yet. ;)

I'll get back to you.

cheers

Ole D.
