Morning

Can you set these up if they are within the Approach(STAR), if so how do you do that.

EG

I'm looking at a flight into EDDF, coming in via the KERAX 2L on the chart (6-68), there are two possible holds at GED and MTR.
Problem is these are not part of the 'route' and PF3 cannot see these?

Unless I've missed something again.

Thanks

Clive

Can you zip your flightplan with your intended STAR and I'll have a look.

Aarh, that's the key a flight plan with the SID/STAR already in it.

I was deleting these (PFPX), before I exported the FP. So I had a 'company route' that could be used month after month.

OK, now I've exported WITH SID and STAR all is fine.

Thanks

Don't forget to "activate SIDs STARs on the SID STAR page. And in the waypoints adjustments page indicate DP where you expect to arrive at the SID ceiling. This is dependant on your a/c weight and performance. So quite often you can put it at a wypt before the actual "End of SID." In the example below ROKIB is the end of SID. The ceiling is FL140. But the Super VC10 gets to FL140 very quickly. Hence PZ493. And then ST at the start of the STAR. Another neat trick you can do is enter the hold wypt twice in your fpl. This allows you to add a descent altitude within the hold. So that PF3 first requests you to hold and then while holding descends you before release. Also don't forget to select the hold probability in options1 misc options.

I now have this :)

is there another way of adding the holding WP the second time, without editing the .pln file?

Should have been 6000 and 5000 for the hold...oops.

No you have to "edit" the flight plan file. You can do it in the sim too. In the sim you have GED once. Then add MTR, then GED again. Delete MTR and add it back in after the two GED's. Otherwise edit the fpl in notepad.
