Sorry another question,

What does the "push and start" option precisely do? Searching the forum it determines the exact request that is asked to ground if contacted right?

Just out of curiosity how should this work with a small GA plane without external power and APU in real life? Would you first get ground approval for engine start so that you have power for GPS etc? Or would you just get clearance on battery and after that start engine (and have a longer time between clearance and take off)? Are there rules on how long after clearance you are expected to start to taxi and take off?

Best Marcel

Generally speaking a small GA a/c would most likely be on a drive through stand. So it is unlikely he/she would ask for pushback therefore. Most airfields would require a request for "start-up" only after the ground crew have cleared the a/c for flight. There is no set procedure other than to carefully read the requirements of the airfield. Whether you start on battery or GPU is also dependant on the aircraft type as well. In PF3 the start-up and pushback is there for large commercial a/c at gates. Some a/c with rear engines are often allowed to start engines before pushback.
