3.3.0 Demo install issue.

Post subject:  3.3.0 Demo install issue.
I just installed the latest demo 3.3.0 after uninstalling the previous version and am getting a
Code: Select all
Run-time error '339':
Component 'csf.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid
I tried locating the file so i could regsvr32 it but was unable to locate it. I have attached the logs.

I think the file should be in your PF3 folder. If not there, you may want to try re-running the installer over the current installation, making sure that any antivirus software is disabled during installation.

csf.ocx is a new file in 3.3.0 (for the new skins), maybe Dave forgot adding it to the updated demo?

Sorry, in my haste I forgot several files, including all the new skins dor the demo.

Please download again and all should be okay now

I had this same problem with the full payware version when it prompted me for the update.

I fixed it with this line:
C:\WINDOWS\system32>Regsvr32 "C:\FSX_addons\PF3\Updates\CSF.ocx"

Hoping that is all that was needed.
The program was not running as administrator when I updated it.

With reference to the post by glider1001 regarding the missing csf.ocx. In my case the file was filed in the FS_Addons folder and not FSX_addons folder.

Regsvr32 "C:\FS_addons\PF3\Updates\CSF.ocx"

Copy the line above including the ". In Windows 10 - Right Click Start->Windows Powershell(Admin) and paste it. Press Enter key and Windows registers it. Then back to Running PF3 and all is well.
