Does PF3 check whether you have set the correct Squawk code? I sometimes forget to set the advised code, but ATC still carries on contacting me regardless. I haven't once been reprimanded or reminded to set the correct code. Does it not matter if you don't set the code? Cheers, Stuart |

Yes. Based on your CP Mode, your VCP will set the transponder code when it is assigned, so this may be why you have not had a problem after failing to set it manually. However if you just go ahead and change it to something else during flight, you should hear about it from ATC. |

Dan, I'm flying the MJC Q8-400, and the FO doesn't change the Squawk code in the ARCDU, which is why I am having to set it manually. Do you know where this is set by the FO, or is it an internal thing within PF3.? Cheers, Stuart |

Not sure how the transponder works in that particular aircraft (anyone familiar feel free to chime in) but in default aircraft the transponder code is set by the VCP. This thread may provide more info: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1965 Also, I found a post on the MJC forum but I don't know if it applies. Could it be that the changes are being made but aren't being displayed? http://majesticsoftware.com/forums/disc ... sponder/p1 |

Correct. What you change in the Q400's ARCDU is transmitted to the sim (and from there via FSUIPC to PF3). What you change via FSUIPC (PF3, Android app, whatever) gets transmitted to the sim, but not to the aircraft's ARCDUs. |
