Post subject: | No command to descend |
I set this flight up so that at waypoint SGJ, I was supposed to descend from 9000 to 5000 feet. Went past that waypoint , no command to descend. Then I tried asking for a lower altitude with holding L key and pressing either 5 or 4 numerous times with no response from center. Only response I could get was when using 9 position report. Finally gave up as I was quickly approaching airport at 9000 feet, and just descended and landed on my own. I even tried switching to approach, and was told to switch back to center. |

Almost similar situation today. Descended me to 8000, overflew arrival field, numerous altitude change requests, no response. Finally got approach, but approach kept telling me to climb back to 8,000. Airport at seal level. finally I just landed, since I was on a VA flight. |

I only looked at the second log, here are some examples:
1. start holding "L" 2. momentarily press "4" and release it again 3. release "L" This can be due to the keyboard (do you have another one available for a test?) or due to your fingers not doing exactly what they need to do. Alternatively you can request lower due to clouds (hotkey 3), which is just a single keypress, but only allows descending 2000 feet. |

I think possibly it is because I am holding the L key down too long before pressing and releasing the other key to change altitude. I tried it with a short tap of L and while holding quickly tapping the 4 and then quickly releasing the L and it worked fine. |
