Regarding ATIS: I did not see ATIS talking to you, but there was a Tower frequency 122.0 for UNAA. If you use Active Sky, it offers ATIS via this frequency, unless you disable that in Active Sky's options. A workaround is to set your radio to send and receive on COM2 instead of COM1, which Active Sky will adhere to, but PF3 will ignore. Alternatively set a new Tower frequency for UNAA in PF3 Options #2. Regarding the American accent: I assume Dave can use your flight plan to recreate it, but I think it would be easier if you include the PF3/Flight/FPP directory in your attachment, too, because it contains a .json file which can be loaded in e.g. http://geojson.io/ to display the center boundaries for your flight. |

Any further thoughts on this? Flying in Russia at the moment, and all the ATC voices have the broadest American accent... I seem to recall reading in another thread though (?) that, at the moment at least, that is the way it has to be. If PF3 chose appropriate voices at some later update, that would be great of course! Happy New Year to all... ![]() Martin |

The accents are the most important part of the program for me...I hate to think of having to go back to PF3 |

Next time you fly this route and the American accents are still there you need to post a zip file of your FPP directory in PF3's Flight directory. This contains a json file which Dave can look at and make corrections. This is an ongoing project as there are still large areas of the world including islands that in PF3 are under FAA control. This dates back to before PFE. |

OK, thanks. Zip file attached (Moscow to Riga flight). |

We did ask Dave in the beta if it was possible for PF3 to use metres instead of feet in Russia and China. I don't know if anything will come of that but it would be a seriously important enhancement. |

Not too worried about that really, at least in comparison to getting the accents right, the topic of this thread. I suspect from the comments around that others would agree. Was the requested zip file of any help? The problem is not global of course. I was flying from Moscow to the UK this evening. In Russia I continue to get broad US accents for ATC, which sounds just weird, but I noticed that when I passed into German airspace (Hannover Radar), their accents changed to German immediately. Haven't tried China, but clearly it should be possible (though perhaps not easy?) to fix this: the accents (I agree with the comments above) are one of the top reasons for having this programme, after all. ![]() |

The json file shows three regions. Dave should be able to correct the one(s) that are incorrect. Unfortunately this regional error can only be corrected when a flightplan crosses the recalcitrant zones. So any encounter of this nature should be reported so that it can be corrected. That said there are a few centres that are FAA, (obviously not in this case) Honolulu for example. |
