Post subject:  Demo Mode ATC chatter

Just tried the demo mode on a flight this morning, and I am impressed. I have two questions, first, I heard no ATC chatter and I had AI flying around where I was . I see no setting to turn it on in the menus. Secondly, ATC on approach was asking me to slow to 50 knots which is below stalling speed in my C 182. Is there a setting for that?

Thanks,

Thanks,
Check the at ATC chatter is checked in options2. You will only hear AI on your frequency.
Set up your aircraft profile on the right in the Select flight plan page. For your Cessna however go to the options2 page and Advanced options. Check final approach speed and enter zero in the box. Then PF3 wil use the flaps up stall speed from the aircraft.cfg file

On the Demo there is no check box in option 2 for AI chatter. I am at a large airport now and have ai set at 60% and don't hear anything.

Options #2, then Advanced Options and INI File Tweaks, in the Misc section (far right). Also make sure you are tuned to the correct frequencies for the airport (Clearance, Ground, Tower) in order to hear AI chatter. The AI must actually be doing something, not just sitting at the gate.

In option 2 misc, these are the four option s I see

Use PM MCP
Gate Parking Only
Use PF3 skins
No VR reminder.

I tried it at JFK, LAX, FLL with traffic at 100% and don't hear anything on tower, and ground.

I'm not aware that Dave turned off the option "Use ATC Chatter" for the demo version. That should be the last one on your list above.
Perhaps Dave you can elucidate.

That option isn't available in the demo but chatter is on by default

I have my AI in the sim set to 70%. So I almost always here something. Sometimes it's continuous. But at other times especially long haul there are long quiet periods.

Money well spent in my opinion !!
