I live near KJFK, and I see planes lined up in a straight line for the runway as far as 30 miles out...PF3 gives me angled approach vectors, not representative of real world...
Someone will correct me if i am wrong, but I believe PF3 will use the "approach" waypoints to set you up for a LOC intercept. These approach waypoints are part of the afcad file for each airport (or contained in a seperate "approaches" file for specific addon airports. You can learn about editing these yourself to give you a different approach, or look in the libraries for one that someone else may have made.
Alternatively you can use the PF3 options to change your FAF distance to 30 miles. This will of course apply to all airports.
A quick glance at the charts for KJFK shows that a number of the runways will not use a 30nm straight-in approach. |
