the AI aircraft are sometimes 20 seconds ahead of ATC |

AI react only to the default ATC. Which is very slick. PF3 reacts to FSUIPC so on occasion there will be a lag. MOstly expèerienced when there is a lot of ground movement and you are in the queue for take-off. Having said that 20 secs is a lot so re-run that exact flight plan for the same time of day and see if the lag is repeated. Then attach the logs so we can see if there is an anomaly somewhere. |

We don't control AI and can only monitor it and emulate ATC instructions to AI 'after' the event. So yes, if you have lots of traffic and your PC is straining at the seams this could happen, although 20 seconds does seem a long time |

On my very old setup, there is a long delay unless I increase the priority of PF3 in Windows Task Manager, and then the delay becomes much more reasonable. Closing unneeded programs when you have FS running can also help free up system resources and reduce the delay. |

Additionally, don't minimize PF3, because of https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/293215:

I dont minimise PF3, it does seem to happen more at bigger airports, maybe because im using mytraffic. But I keep the slider to 15% Sometimes planes take off at the same time on Crossing runways, I had to turn of collisions , too anoying to start over a flight sometimes. |

I have turned off collisions since FS9, it is nothing but problems. |
