Post subject:  Cabin announcements not queuing

Hello!

I have been using FDC on a VISTA-PC (with onboard sound) via WideFS Network.
The first cabin announcement is being triggered by a hot key.
The second one should be triggered when the parking brake is released.
If I release the brake while the first announcement is being made, the second one gets queued until the
first one is terminated. It then starts.
So far so good, this worked nicely.

Now I have installed FDC on a different XP-PC (with creative sound card).
In this case the second announcement is not queued after releasing the brake.
Instead it interrupts the first announcement and starts off immediately.

Are there any ideas why this should work with one PC but not with the other?
Is the soundcard or XP the reason?

Thank you and best regards,
Ron

Does sound (excuse the pun) a little strange and my 'guess' is it 'may' have something to do with the sound card. FDC uses DirectSound and checks the buffers to ascertain if and when a current sound has completed. Now, whether the sound card drivers has any adverse affect (or otherwise) on such things I'm afraid I don't know.

One thing I do know is it works correct here on both Vista 32, Vista 64 and XP. In fact it was developed on XP.

Sorry I'm unable to help much

Hi Dave,

thanks for your very fast reply, that's great.
I'll check with my soundcard, it is a common one: Creative Soundblaster X-Fi.
If I find a solution I'll let you know.
Bye,
Ron
