Post subject:  Flying with no waypoints??

Sorry if the answer to this is out there somewhere - I couldn't find anything in the pdf.

What happens if there really are no suitable waypoints between my departure and destination airports? Can I create false ones (say in FS Navigator): or (I assume to be more likely!) will PF3 only use ones pre-existing in the database? I can't fly with none, PF3 tells me so. (For example, my flight is SLCB to SLVR, where FS Navigator at least indicates no usable waypoints at all - even with a large detour - between the two airports, which are about 140 miles apart)?

Do I have to fly without PF3 in this case?

Thanks,

Martin

PF3 does not have a database of waypoints, it takes whatever the flight plan contains, so feel free to insert fake waypoints.

That's good. I was going to try that out earlier this evening, but I didn't get a chance to get back to FS9... I'll give it a go tomorrow, adding a couple of waypoints of my own.

Thanks.

In Fs9 if you need to have a facility that exists in real life but not in the FS9 database you can add it using facility editor. Then your external flight plan will match with FS9.
I can fly any routing I like with Civa INS but it may not always show up in FS9 so facility editor resolves that problem.
