Post subject: | Question regarding Direct to requests |
Good evening everyone ![]() Firstly I want to say that I am really enjoying PF3, but sometimes it confuses me. And this is one of those times, but please don't think I am moaning or saying there is a problem. I think that someone out there who knows more about PF3 and aviation will be able to answer my question. Tonight I was on a flight EGPH to EGKK and I was climbing out of EGPH on the GOSA1D departure I made a left turn at FENIK, my flight plan (By PFPX) had a few way points on, what was nearly a straight line I decided to request a direct to LAKEY, just to get a few waypoints out of the way. Anyway what happened when I requested a direct to, and subsequent ones was a reply from ATC of "Not available at this point in the flight". Okay fair enough I thought, I kept trying along my route with no success. SO my question is does anyone know why this might happen, I am just curious to see if I might have done something wrong during my planning etc. My logs and I believe you need the FPP folder. Both are attached for viewing ![]() Cheers Rob |

All conditions of page 93 are met, so I think you found a bug in PF3. The last time I requested a Direct To was in February with PF3 version 3.0.1 and it worked fine then, so either it is a new bug or only triggered by the special conditions of your flight. Edit: Oh, not all conditions are met! I checked that PF3 detects that you reached further waypoints, but your log does not contain "resume own navigation". I'm not sure why. |

Thanks for checking into this guys! Well there had to be a reason I couldn't do a direct to request. I don't recall resume own navigation been said, so I guess that's what it is then. I'll listen out for it in my next flight ![]() Cheers Rob |
