Post subject:  Descent Altitude

Hi,

Just wondering if someone can help me. I have created a flight plan in FSC9 YMML to YPAD with SID and STARS. Everything works great until descent.

I ran altitude at 18000ft for highest flight level then at way point Black I changed in PFE to 4500 then to 3000 at next way point for descent (this is done before connecting to FSX) When I get to Black PFE doesnt pickup to tell me to decrease altitude as stated before connecting PFE to FSX.

Any ideas?

Running latest versions of all thanks.

Please recreate the problem and zip/upload the LOG files from your PFE\Logs folder

First I notice that you have added wypt BLACK twice. Are you trying to use it as a hold?
It would appear that your STAR starts from BLACK also. Might I suggest this fpl instead
(not including your SID) This is for rwy 23 as you have illustrated above.
YMML
NEVIS FL180
BOR FL180
DUKES FL180
DRNA FL180
BLACK FL120 Start of STAR
PLEZN 7,000
KERRS 4,000 End of STAR
YPAD

Play around with this a bit more and you should be ok. It's a lot "safer" than your fpl!!
Not that the numbers are generated by PFE and come within the altitude constraints. A descent rate of no more than 2,000fpm should be fine.

Sorry but you are running a very old and unsupported version (2.11) of PFE. Please use your 'Check for Updates' button on the main menu display or use the cumulative updates package available on this forum. If you can recreate the problem when running version 2.15 I will gladly look at your new logs but I'm afraid I simply can't spend time supporting old versions.

You've been using PF3 for too long ;)

The duplicate waypoints are a throwback to PF2K, which of course is no longer an issue with PF3 :D

Did it indicate a hold Dave?

No, PF2K used duplicates for step climbs/descents
