Post subject:  Big thank you

I really want to praise the support that I received from Dave March.

I had a very unusual problem, no sound within PF3, but he found it and sorted it out very quickly! He found a missing "directX for managed code" entry was missing from the Microsoft.net windows folder. I downloaded the file from a link that he sent me (google it if you have the same problem as I had), and that fixed the problem.

Also. PF3 was crashing when exiting from the options screen, and that is to do with some computers not liking the new skins. I am passing on the info for all of you. Just select the default PF3 skin from the menu will fix that problem.

I am sharing this info in case other people have the same problem.

If you have no sound from PF3 when connected to FSX on a client, but remote text is showing the text, then check your windows netframework folder for the directX managed file/folder.

In summary.

If PF3 crashes when exiting option screens, then select the default PF3 screen/skin. If you have no sound, but do have text messages in remote text, then check for the directX for managed code in the windows net framework folder.

And finally? PF3 is brilliant.

My set up, in case anyone is interested, is running FSX stand alone on a server (on 4 monitors). I then run PF3, FSC, ASNext and use FSCaptain for adventurous flying around the world, all on a networked laptop. I use Fsbuild for my flight planning, and use TOPCAT for my take off profiles. Very happy with the setup.

But getting back to the main reason for my post! PF3 is brilliant! The transformation from PFE is amazing! I loved PFE, but PF3 is a big step forward. Buy it! It is well worth the money!

And the support from Dave is impeccable.

Cheers fellow simmers.

Terry
