Post subject:  TGS gauge

Good morning,
Have PF3 demo installed on a second computer and have done a quick flight and thus far, really like what I see. ATC/other pilots voices are the best I have heard (flightsimmer since the 1980's). Thought I would try to get the TGS functioning prior to taking the leap. Installed the gauge in the default c172 and 3rd party Duke Turbine v2 as a window.
My problem; The gauge is there, however it remains blank. Have the boxes ticked in the options menus. Taxied around a little to see if it would start. Tried the hotkey to activate/deactivate.
No luck! What am i missing? Hopefully I didn't miss something in the manual!
Any suggestions/guidance appreciated.
Regards
Dave

You might want to start with simpler options before trying to integrate the TGS gauge.
Just enable "Audio Guidance" and "Use HDG Bug" (see page 27 of the manual for details)

If this does not work, please attach your logs to this thread.

Edit: I just see that they are already enabled by default.

Dave,
try reloading your aircraft, if it's there in your panel it has installed correctly...
You did connect to FS and then PF3?

Hi Dave,
Yes I started up FSX prior to connecting to PF3 on a networked PC. Everything seems to work just fine except the gauge. The heading indicator and/or audio won't come alive either. Did another short flight just to see if there might be taxi help at destination airport but no luck. Can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

Try running the TGS_Display standalone program on your client pc... you'll find it in the same folder as the gauge... see if that works, at least then we'll know it's the gauge and nothing else

Hi,
Fired everything up and tried the TGS_Display.exe on my client PC and still no joy.
Gauge came up and in the middle of the circle, in green, says TGS not active.
Tried toggle 1 activate/deactivate,taxied around a little and still a no go.
Then did the flight any way cuz voices and interactions are great!
Thanks for the help.

Problem solved for me.

The roger/read back would not work for me set as / or CtrlShft /
So I changed it to the space bar in the Hot key options.
That did it! Roger/Read back started working.
Interestingly this also solved my other discussion and my TGS started working!
So I'm all set.
In my opinion best ATC product out there right now and with the great product support
I have experienced I think there will be even greater things added to this software
in the future.
Off to purchase!
Dave
