Dave; I'm evaluating the PF3 trial version. I note that on initial descent from Class A airspace, i.e. transitioning from a flight level to an altitude, the controller does not give an altimeter/QNH setting with the first clearance to a non-flight level altitude. Procedurally, this is required, as setting the correct altimeter setting is a must to level off at the correct altitude. I am getting an altitude from ATC on initial contact with approach control, which has been far too late. Is there a command to request QNH from the controller? If not, I'd suggest there needs to be one. Also, I am getting QNH settings in hectopascals instead of inches despite flying in US airspace (KPSP, KSAN etc). Is this a trial version issue? OK, for some reason the default setting for US was not inches, but changing the setting in the Baro/transition worked. Still getting descents out of Class A airspace with no altimeter setting, though. Regards Bob Scott |

Okay, well I'll gladly take a look if you give me something to look at ![]() |
