Post subject:  FDC for C-130

Hi. Is there a working profile for CS C-130? I tried "not listed" and setting the flaps to 10 positions, and FDC says "flaps are set to 10...this aircraft has 10". I also tried deleting the flaps section in the config. Still no go.

Thanks.

Has anyone made or found a working FDC profile for the CaptainSim C-130, with the proper flap increments? I made one today, but when I connect FDC to FS9 am getting the error message ".. the panel you are using has 10 flap postions but FDC is configured to use 10...". I came here to investigate - and see that I am not the only one.

Dave L mentioned deleting the flap entry in the aircraft.cfg file - FS will then recreate one when you reload the aircraft with only six flap positions, but then the flaps do not correspond to the gauges in the cockpit. :(

Will FDC not support ten flap positions then?

Many thanks.

Martin, can you send me your aircraft.cfg please because FDC is configured for 12 settings!

Hi Martin,
The C130 should work with 10 positions.
Unfortunately you will get some flap calls not corresponding with the actual panel flap detants,so can't help you there.
You may need to experiment with this which means alot of time and patience is needed.
Also you may need to delete flaps section as i stated earlier to get it working with fdc and then take it from there.

Hi again.

Advice welcome: how do you think I should 'experiment'? First, I don't know what to make of the 'error' message:

[ img ]

I am fairly sure I created the profiles and PF file (.uco), OK, with the right number of flap settings. For example, bottom line Takeoff Data in the PEFile:

#Flaps:110011111111

Wt - V1 - VR - V2 - 0 - 1 - 2 - 5 - 10 - 15 - 20 - 25 - 30 - 35 - 40
000 146 156 160 172 167 165 162 156 152 147 143 139 134 130 000

Landing Data, bottom line:

Wt - 1 - 2 - 5 - 10 - 15 - 20 - 25 - 30 - 35 - 40
000 193 190 185 161 177 173 162 151 140 131

And the pro file reads:

[Flaps]
Preset=41 <------ (OK?? What does this represent?)
FP1=1
FP2=1
FP3=0
FP4=0
FP5=1
FP10=1
FP15=1
FP20=1
FP25=1
FP30=1
FP35=1
FP40=1

If I delete the flap settings in the aircraft.cfg file, how do I get back to 10 positions again from the 6 that FS9 then creates? (I know that the callouts won't match in respect of numbers, but I can live with that!).

Thanks

Martin
