I'm using the full version in P3D 3.1 and although I can see the closed caption text not all messages are audible. For example, vc requests clearance, atc responds, can see text, no sound. Then the vc reads back and that is audible. This pattern seems pretty consistent in that only the read back is heard. I can hear the controller talking to other planes and pilots responding. I've tried reinstalling pf3, different flight plans and different airports and consistently I can only hear the read back, not the initial request or atc at clearance, taxi request, departure etc.

To get the obvious question out of the way:
There are volume sliders in PF3 while being connected. Are they all ok?

Yes I can hear the read back but not the initial request, therefore I don't believe it is that simple.

There are multiple sliders:
VCP Volume is for the request, ATC Volume is for the readback.

When you say "not all messages are audible" are you referring to messages directed at you or to AI? The settings (which you can change) are set so that some RT messages are indistinct. But messages directed to you should always be clear.

Hi Mark,

Please email all the files in your PF3\Logs folder and I'll take a look straight away

Incidentally, have you run the install validation?

Problem solved, I hadn't got an airline selected under Option 1 settings.

I made the same mistake. BTW, there is an airline callsign "none" that you can use when flying non-airliner aircraft.

Or you can choose Cessna, Baron, Learjet, etc. ;)
