Hi Dave,
I'm sure this has been asked before, but have you ever considered doing a version of PFE that was compatible with X-Plane?

Regards,
Mike W.

No, but I did hear somewhere that someone had achieved it.... I believe there was a YouTube video about it.

There has been some discussion about it being done but I'm not sure how well it works.

Hi Dave

Indeed.

It is now possible to use Pro Flight Emulator with X-Plane 10

You just need this plugin that installs into X-Plane.

Interesting indeed, not having PFE is a major reason for me to not use X-Plane.
(another is UT2, everything else might be negotiable)

Your response here seem to indicate surprise! FS++ has done this also with Radar Contact, but I believe they had the developers consent on that one. That doesn't seem to be the case here judging from this response. Do you have any problem with FS++ selling a plugin to get PFE to work in X-Plane? Obviously OnCourse holds all copyright to PFE. I myself could see a potential support headache for you. Ie: Is a problem caused by PFE, or FS++ plugin..

No I don't have any problem with F++ developing a plugin to use PFE with XP and I will be glad to offer any help they might need in the future.

As for giving me a headache with regard to support, it won't, because I can't support it if you're using it with XP!! I don't have XP so there's nothing I could do. If you experience a problem with PFE running under XP my first response would be to ask you to recreate it using FS, if you couldn't then I would assume it was a problem with the plugin and redirect you to F++

Simple ;)

I was fortunate enough to be a beta tester on this plugin and I can tell you that it works very well in X-Plane. I believe the plugin just allows PFE to communicate with X-Plane. there was no reverse engineering of PFE to get it to work.

I am using this as well and it works nicely. I even have to say that some of the interface dialogues are a bit more elegant than in the original.

One thing that bugs me, however, is that in XP it doesn't register A.I. traffic (at least not from the payware Worldtraffic add-on) so basically all there is to it is the communication of your own plane with ATC which is of course only about 20% of what PFE can do. This is a huge disappointment.
