Is it possible to get a push and start clearance from an airport that doesn't have a clearance frequency eg EGFF,EGNT,EGNM,EGGP etc. I've tried adding the frequency using ADE and rebuilding the scenery files in FSX, then using Make runways and rebuilding the data files in PFE but when I tune to the clearance frequency a dialogue tells me to tune to the tower. ie no clearance frequency recognised. It's only a small thing but I do like the clearance for added realism. Thanks for any help.

Try adding 'ground control' facilities

I assume by facilities you mean ground comms. if so I have added ground frequency which FSX own ATC recognises but still nothing with PFE. I must be missing something.
Thanks for your reply. Appreciated.

I wonder if this might give somebody any ideas.

found in folder PFE/DATA PFE FSX FREQ dat file

EGFF,0,0,"Cardiff"
EGFF,1,132.47,"EGFF"
EGFF,5,128.32,"CARDIFF"
EGFF,6,125.00,"CARDIFF"
EGFF,7,122.80,"CARDIFF"
EGFF,8,125.85,"CARDIFF"
EGFF,8,126.62,"CARDIFF"

so Pfe should know the new frequencies are there and in use.....shouldn't it.

But on the other hand this is found in PFE/FS2000/adv pf2000-egff to eick.brf

DEPARTURE AIRPORT INFORMATION

CLR GROUND TOWER DEPART
000.000 000.000 125.000 118.600
APP UNI MULTI FSS
125.850 000.000 000.000 122.800

Runway ID HDG ILS Freq
12 121 110.70
30 301 110.70

DESTINATION AIRPORT INFORMATION

CLR GROUND TOWER DEPART
121.700 121.800 119.300 118.600
APP UNI MULTI FSS
119.900 000.000 000.000 122.800

Runway ID HDG ILS Freq
07 070 000.00
17 167 109.90
25 250 000.00
35 347 109.90

Hmmmmm! No clearance or ground frequencies at egff Cardiff.

It's beat me....... well for the present anyway. :?

Not elegant but it works.

Add frequencies for clearance and ground to airport using ADE.
Run Makerwys.
Start PFE and rebuild database

Navigate to your PFE/FS2000/adv folder. Find the flight plans with the departure airport in question. Open the .BRF file and manually add the frequencies. It's obvious where to put them. Then save back as ****.BRF

Job done.

But there must be an easier way.

Post subject:  Re: pushback

You don't need the BRF file... it's defunct and not used by anything

The frequencies in the file you showed in your post does not have any CD, Ground or Tower frequencies at all... and these are the facilities taken from your FSX installation by MakeRwys

EGFF,0,0,"Cardiff"
EGFF,1,132.47,"EGFF"
EGFF,5,128.32,"CARDIFF"
EGFF,6,125.00,"CARDIFF"
EGFF,7,122.80,"CARDIFF"
EGFF,8,125.85,"CARDIFF"
EGFF,8,126.62,"CARDIFF"

Missing....

CD would be EGFF,2,
Ground would be EGFF,3,
Tower would be EGFF,4,

You could add these manually but you would have to do so each time you run MakeRwys

Hmmmm! not sure about that dave. I've checked that file again and lots of the airports are missing numbers 2 to 4 and yet they have CD,Ground etc.
My previous workaround may yet be faulty as when I load an adventure in pfe the ground, CD, etc are gone. but if I disconnect and load the adventure again it works fine. Strange but true. I'll keep playing..........I might find the reason eventually. Cheers for your responses.

Well I AM sure about it. The frequencies in that file are taken from FS by MakeRwys. The way the logic works is we originally get the frequencies from PF2000, we then read the ones from FS and if we get a match we use the FS ones. If not we use the originals. If there are no originals and no FS frequencies for a particular airport then you will have no facility. Simple as....

Dave, sorry if I sounded like I was doubting you, I didn't mean that in the slightest. I love this software and wouldn't be without it. I just couldn't get my head round the missing entries bit. I do like to tinker though and frequently get myself in trouble. It isn't the end of the world if I can't get push and start clearance but it is a nice touch. Kindest regards Steve.
