Post subject:  Connect to FSX error

Today, i reinstalled PFE after reinstalling FSX. I used PFE prior to this with no issues. It installed with no issues. I converted a flight plan as usual and compiled the adv in pf2000, as usual. I opened the adv in PFE and attempted to connect to FSX, again like I always have. After selecting "connect to FSX" I immediately got a warning screen saying something about a new TGS and that I needed to rebuild my PFE database. I went to options and selected the rebuild. I followed the instructions, which included downloading and running a runways program by Pete Dowson. I ran the program inside the FSX main folder and selected the runway.rsv file as instructed in PFE. I then got an error screen regarding the path of that .rsv file. PFE then closed.

I never had this issue with my original install about a year ago. Any help will be much appreciated.

Fyi, I removed PFE through the control panel, so it was a clean reinstall.

Have you done anything different to last time when you had FSX and PFE running perfectly.

You did have anti virus turned off and have you also told your AV software to leave PFE alone

Thanks for your quick reply. No, seems like everything is the same. It looks like other users have had this problem while trying to rebuild the database and have been instructed to install PFE in a different location than default, which I did.

Yes, I installed PFE with antivirus turned off.

And to clarify, I believe the problem is not being able to rebuild the database due to an issue with the runway.rsv error.

Where do you have PFE and FSX installed?
