Post subject: | Lost Tower Communication? |
My home airport is KMYR. 1. I can originate a flightplan 2. Clearance communication is normal 3. Ground Control communication is normal 4. Ground control then tells me to contact the tower on 128.45 5. The next communication I hear is from my aircraft telling everybody in the airport area that I am taking off on runway xx departing to the direction of my departure. It seems that at this point PFE considers my airport to be without a control tower any longer as an uncontrolled airport, although ground control has instructed me to contact the tower and given me the frequency. In the past this has not been the case and the tower did acknowledge me and give me takeoff instruction. I don't really know when this quirk began but seems to be permanent now. If I am not mistaken, there has been another location or two where this happened, but I am not positive of this. All other communication is normal, including approaching this same airport as my destination, not departure. The tower does communicate with me for landing, just not departure. Any ideas? Thanks: RTH |

That's very strange and it sounds like an FS frequency has been changed by something so when you set your COMs to 128.45 PFE thinks you're on Multicom/Unicom frequency. I would like to look at a log file next time this occurs. If you haven't done another flight since it last happened then please send me the debug log. If you have only done one flight since it happen please send the OLD debug log. |
