Post subject:  PFE won't initialize in FSX
Recently bought pro flight emulator deluxe. I have not been able to get it to initialize in fsx. It says pfe initializing.....but it never does. I have spent hours trying to figure this out. I am not sure if I quite understand setting up flight plan or more precisely the order of the steps. Even when I follow the manual about making a flight plan, it just won't initialize. Are there any tutorials available that may help me figure this out? Didn't expect this to be that difficult, but I would like to use the program. Thanks for anything.

first make sure you have the latest version 2.14 installed :

If you're running Windows Vista or later do NOT instal into the default "c:/program files" folder, because Windows regards that as a protected area and will prevent certain files being written and/or updated. I appreciate the installer defaults to that location but the publisher wrote the instal script long before Vista hit the shelves

Thanks very much for your reply. Yes, of course, PFE was installed to the default location. I should have known better since I've been around Windows for some time. Oh, well, your answer brought me back to reality. Everything is installed correctly now and it is working. Now I just have to learn how to use it effectively. Thanks again and also for the links to the tutorial videos.
