Post subject:	Waypoint adjustment on shorter IFR flights?

Hi.. I can't see this covered in the manual or FAQ page, so...

An IFR flight, Innsbruck to Venice - about 140 miles by my flightplan. How do I set a cruising altitude (about 15000' here would be OK)? When I try to enter this in 'Waypoint' adjustment, I get this:

It isn't possible to enter the adjustment? Or maybe, as my flightplan stipulates 15000', it isn't important? This is the plan, below. If I use the 'Adjust FS FP to FE2000' option, the resulting plan has no waypoints in it, just LOWI and LIPZ, but the waypoint adjustment window looks exactly the same.

The other problem is that at the start of the flight, clearance instructs me to climb to and maintain 2000'. A recipe for tears if ever there was one, as the airport is at an elevation of 1900'! Is that a consequence of the above?

Log file please Martin. PFE should handle above and below sea level without any problems.

The reason you can't enter a waypoint altitude is because there are no waypoints. The one in your FP must have been dropped by PF2000

There are three waypoints rather than one - and they have all been dropped. They are reaonably far apart too. Any way to get them in manually?

I exited PFE and started it again - clearance still directed me to 2000'. Log here (let me know if you prefer them emailed to you). See entries at 08/01/2014 12:00:26:

One was a typo and should have read 'ones' and no, you can't enter them manually

I always prefers logs to be emailed plus it prevents making the threads too long

Yes, I turned PFE and FS9 off.. You mean that the reason for being cleared to just 100' AGL would be due to something after the clearance was given - and after the end of the current log?? I don't get that, as the clearance had already been given, but you are obviously the guru in all this, not me! If you can give me an idea what you were expecting to find after the log was cut off, I can have a look myself. Otherwise, I'll fly again from LOWI - I seem to be given 2000' every time, and email you the whole log. As you prefer..

(When I repeated the flight, I was cleared to 2000' again, and I just ignored it and continued up to my planned cruise altitude. It didn't seem to cause too many problems, apart from the fact that every message was 'out of Flight Level 150 - or whatever - 'for 2000').. I was vectored OK to final at LIPZ.

Never mind.... should have been obvious to me. Because you have NO waypoints the only altitude we have to go by is the airport elevation which is 1900 and assumed to be your cruise. I'll see if I can add a workaround for such a scenario but providing you have one waypoint and set a suitable cruise altitude you won't experience this problem.

Another workaround is to set the Minimum FAF Alt for LOWI to say 5000' or something similar... the initial clearance altitude will then be set to that figure

I thought that the fact that there were no waypoints might be a reason, as I asked when I mentioned the point in the first post. If there's a workaround (for these shorter flights where waypoints don't show in PFE) you can come up with, that's be good!
