Post subject:  Auto Mode1 behaviour
I guess I post so much because I am flying FS9 for some hours, every day - and use FDC/PFE every flight. Still, I am amazed at how many things crop up, as are you, I am sure. But having found another small problem about which I have found no answer...

Until last week the VCP would set flaps to whatever is stipulated in the .uco/.sco file (eg. #NTOF:15) only once I had started taxiing to the runway. Now flaps go down as I am finishing pushing back, and I get "10 secs after taxi starts" and taxi checks start much earlier than they used to - well before I release the brakes and start to taxi.

The profiles have the entries below. How do I get things back as they were (I haven't knowingly changed any settings myself) so that the VCP sets flaps, reads out "OK on the right" and starts taxi checks "10 secs after taxi starts" (when exactly does FDC see the taxi as starting?), as is shown in the FDC options/select aircraft window, rather than immediately pushback is finished?

FDC works in several different 'modes' during your flight. The actual 'Taxi to Runway' mode is activated usually after the 'gate departure' announcements has been made. Taxi 'roll' is assumed on release of the parking brake.

This is taken from my failing memory as Christmas day is not a day for looing at code and I did write this about 12 years ago! :shock:

The actual 'Taxi to Runway' mode is activated usually after the 'gate departure' announcements has been made.

Not quite sure what announcement that is, but no matter. I think this is a problem with just one or two aircraft (though they all have the same VCP settings), as all the planes I have flown since Christmas have been fine. If this happens again (and it happened several times - I don't post problems here on the basis of one occurrence of any particular anomaly, or I really would drive you nuts!).

The turkey was great, thanks Dave: Even better, it wasn't me who had to cook it!

I don't have that announcement activated..

So, as soon as I posted that last one, I went to FS and started a flight, EGKK to LEMH... The 'unusual' behaviour started as I pushed back. First thing, the flaps are automatically set during pushback, before the After Start Checks. Normally that happens 10" after releasing the brakes and starting taxiing to the runway. The taxi checks then start as the pushback finishes and the parking brakes are still on. That's not how things are set according to my FDC, as above.

Couldn't have anything to do with Aerosoft's AES, could it? This instance was at an airport with AES, but whether previous instances were also at AES airports, I couldn't now say.

Here are the start and end sections of the blackbox.log, if this helps any..

Maybe I'd be better switching back to semi-auto mode???

.. Dave, I am going to email you my fdc.ini file, which is huge! I don't know if it is relevant to the above, or any other issues I have had, but there is a section called [Parameters] which is repeated ad nauseam... This isn't normal, surely?? I've backed this large file up and thendeleted all the repeated [Parameters] sections in my active ini file, keeping just the first. Is that right?

OK, but the log file apart, I am still getting taxi checks way too early on certain flights, so I am going to go back to Semi_Auto Mode....
