I usually set my FMC (i.e. in PMDG 747or LVL-D 767) VNAV so that the a/c maintains 250KIAS below 10,000'. Once it passes that level, it accelerates to climb speed, but ATC then tells me to reduce speed down to 250KIAS again. If I wait a minute or so and try accelerating again, all is OK. I can't see which setting I might have wrong (if any). How do I synchronise PFE settings with the a/c VNAV, so that I can accelerate from FL100 without ATC complaining? Thanks. |

Hi, thanks for the quick response. Actually, I like ATC to 'nag' me if I break speed restrictions under 10,000 so I left that setting as it is (I did see it). Maybe it takes half a minute or so for ATC to register that I am over FL100? If I could set the level at 9000' instead of 10000', it would probably be fine - but not sure if that is possible (not at FS PC as I write this). |

Also bear in mind your Baro setting and/or Transition Altitude for you region would have to taken into consideration.. |
