Running FS9 under Win 7. I've noticed that whenever request a field advisory from unicom or FSS, I'm given the weather conditions at whatever the plane's current location is rather than at the field. Doesn't seem to matter how close I am to the field. For wx I use FSMeteo, which allows you to set that distance at which it will send the destination wx to the Adventure. I have this set at 100 miles. I also tried FSMetar and got the same results...winds and pressure at the plane's location rather than at the field. Can this be fixed? FSUIPC comes with a program called Weather Set that will give you ground (and aloft) wx conditions at any airport, so I'm assuming there's some way for programs to access that data. In the meantime, my lack of piloting skills is a bigger problem than any of the add-on programs I'm using.

Even saying "I don't know" is better than just ignoring a question. I'm disappointed.

Dave M won't be ignoring you on purpose,he'll get round to answering your question....
Have you tried using ACARS ATIS for your destination..just as a thought!

Thanks, Dave. The problem happens at airports with no ATIS frequency and I try to get field conditions from Multicom or FSS. If there's an ATIS frequency I seem to get the correct weather at the field.

I'm afraid you'll only get weather from nearest airfield with ATIS,or nearest weather station whichever is closer....
Maybe Dave M or someone else maybe able to shed some light on this,i know using Activesky it takes weather from closest station so i'm assuming FS meteo will be the same..

ACARS was added in version 2.8 to provide such info for your destination

I'm thinking that the problem may be my ignorance about how this is all supposed to work. I have no problem with airports that have an ATIS frequency. So how do you get weather conditions for airports that don't have ATIS or AWOS or some other automated facility? I figured FSS or multicom would be the logical answer, but maybe I was wrong?

FSS/Multicom is working as it was in PF2000.... I never changed anything in those areas but added ACARS instead.
