I have been trying to set up FDC so that when I select a profile for the Project Tupolev Tu154 ('B-2' or 'M'), the only FDC option that is active is certain parts of the VCP/VCP-X. The 154M has its own checklists and pilot vocal interaction, so all I would really like is, when I load one of my Tu154 profiles, for FDC to have the VCP deal with the flaps and gear, and without any comment at all (as the wav files in the Tu154 are in Russian - though an English version is available for the Tu154M).

The problem is I am not sure how to set this up so that it only applies to the Tu154. I don't want to change any global settings for other a/c.

For instance, if I go into Options/Flightdeck Calls and uncheck the three 'master' boxes, what do I then save? I select' Save Changes' and then 'Save Profile'? If I 'Save Profile' I get a huge 3MB .pro file that FDC won't read (as explained in my earlier post "Engine Start-up calls.. help needed please" - issue not resolved):

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1360

If I go into Options/Select Aircraft, choose the Tu154, uncheck all the checklist options on the right-hand side and save the changes, when I close the options window and then go back into Options/Select Aircraft & choose the Tu154 again, all the boxes for checklists are ticked again, as if I never changed anything

To be honest I MUCH prefer to set all options, if I can, by editing the .pro files or .sco/.uco files directly with a text editor. I could try just setting options in the .pro file to zero:

[Captain]
Captain=2
CaptainMaster=0
CTChecklistCalls=0
CTFlapCalls=0
CTTakeoffCalls=0
CTGeneralCalls=0
CTTalk=0
ArmON=0

and so forth, until I have things as I want, but maybe you don't think that is the best way? I'll settle for any solution that accomplishes a totally 'silent' FDC for this a/c, but with the flaps and gear operated for me by the VCP (I am used to that in all other a/c and tend to forget out of habit with the Tu154!).

Thanks,

Martin

Testing this out meantime, setting the values to '0' in the pro file seems to be working. After takeoff, gear retracts and flaps go up according to the uco file. All in silence (apart from PT's Russian scrips). Great!

I would still like to know how to do this via the Options windows though, when someone has a moment to explain. I am always frightened of saving new settings for individual a/c in case they are applied globally to all my aircraft..
