Ok,this is from Pete Dowsons forum with regards to an external programme similar to FDC,it sounds like you are starting FDC before FS2004 is this correct? The way in which i do it is to start FS,load my flight and then my aircraft that i will be using and then start FDC and select my profile then click connect... "suddenly have the Problem if when I start my FS 2004 together with the Flight Keeper Tool I get the Error Message " Error : IPC timed out all retries" there after the FS 2004 close itselfs and a MS Error Message appears which tell me that is something wrong as well with my msvcrt.dll. I don't know how the "Flight Keeper" tool is causing FS to crash -- they may be two separate problems, but the "timed out all retries" problem is almost inevitable if the program is loaded before FSUIPC is running -- and FSUIPC isn't running until FS is running and ready to fly. Some FSUIPC applications can be run before FS and sit around waiting till they can connect (and this is good design), but unfortuately many can only be loaded when FS is ready. You can get FSUIPC to load them for you with the stipulation to only load them when FS is fully ready -- see the FSUIPC Advanced Users guide for information on editing FSUIPC.INI, or try the "Run Options" program by Jose Oliveira, also available on http://www.schiratti.com/dowson"" |

Thanks Dave i'll try the process again as suggested, concerning my FSUIPS i have downloaded the latest version for FS2004 if it is a FSUIPS issue its because I have had a problem locating the older version to delete there was an empty folder in the Modules File hence nothing to delete and file search could not locate a file, anyway i'll keep plugging away and try and get a connection. and read the manual closer regarding getting started, Many Thanks! I have also tried to obtain Dave's PMDG B747-400 fs2004 profile & Checlists from AVSIM i purchased the WINZIP unzip tool, however each I tried to use it I get a message 'purchase or register' I already had done both of these,I tried to re-register then had a message 'The registration number already taken by someone else' and no other windows came up to assist, had no reply from WINZIP Support, wonder if you could advise please. Many Thanks Richard (Nagoya) |

OMG!!.....you is having some issues here, what registration problems are you having...i can only really help you with PFE or FDC,if it's other software like winzip or avsim, then you'll have to take it up with them i'm afraid. |
