Hi there,

I know there is a current topic on this and other bits on it but I thought it best to start another topic as to save confusion as it's a slightly different case.

When I updated to the latest version of PFE the TGS stopped working completely and hasn't worked since. I get all the Taxi info and routing etc but nothing else. Not the TGS box, voice instructions etc It worked perfectly until time of PFE update.

I'm running:

FSX
Windows XP Service Pack
Norton Internet Security

Many thanks

Did you turn off Norton AV when you updated?

Hi there Dave, yes I did do. I was very careful to do that having read about that previously.

Is everything checked on options#1 screen with regards to TGS.

Do you use the gauge or display.exe or just voice and fsuipc window

Hi Dave,

Just checked the options#1 screen and all the TGS options have a cross in the box.

Next question is where I look a bit of a dumbar$e cos I'm not quite sure. It just used to come up automatically with a voice saying where to turn and a box that first appeared and 'TGS Active' which doesn't happen now either.
Hope that helps...

Thanks for the logs.

Do you have a TGS.EXE file in your main PFE folder, because I'm somewhat suspicious about your security application, especially since it's the dreaded Norton !!

Hi Dave,

I can't see a TGS.EXE in my main PFE folder, no.
I think you have good reason to be suspicious about the dreaded Norton!

What's next?

Cheers

You need to tell Norton to leave everything in the pfe folder alone, then reinstall
