Post subject:  No descend or approach

Hi PFE

I just bought PFE from Aerosoft and tried it out on a few flights now. I never get any descend or approach information from ATC.
In fact out of desperation I even tried descending without authorization, and ATC asked me to climb back up to cruise-altitude.

This results in me overflying the destination airport at cruise-altitude - and even passing it without any call from ATC...
What am I doing wrong??

thanks

(ps. I tried the cumulative update, as suggested here on the forum. I also set my descend profile to 1500 FPM)

Have you ran Makerwys and then rebuild the PFE database?

Have altered any altitudes in your flightplan?

Have you watched my tutorials for PFE from the main website under "Tutorials"

Yes to all three. I also tried one without altering the flightlevel with no difference (other than I would then be flying the entire route in 8000ft, which seems quite low)

Which directory have you installed PFE into?

This error you are receiving usually derives from a bad flightplan,what planner are you using?

Have you missed an ATC instruction by any chance,can you post a flightplan you are having problems with please..

PFE is installed into C:\Program Files\Aerosoft\PFE

I used vRoute to generate the plan - boasts to be real-world aviation-plan.

this is the .pln:

[flightplan]
AppVersion=9.1.40901
title=ENBO Bodo to ENAN Andoya
description=ENBO, ENAN
type=IFR
routetype=2
cruising_altitude=22000
departure_id=ENBO, N67* 16.15', E14* 21.92', +000042.00
departure_position=1
destination_id=ENAN, N69* 17.55', E16* 8.65', +000043.00
departure_name=Bodo
destination_name=Andoya

Uninstall PFE and don't use the default location of C:\Program Files this where the problem lies.

When asked for install,use C: and PFE will create a folder to install into...

Try creating the flight with default flightplanner and see how that goes...

hi Mr.,

I have now 2 years experience with PFE.. and .. in 2 cases you´ll get no descent instructions:

1: Check if PF2000 is calculation a climb and descent profile - sometimes it does -unfortunately - not !!
For this -- select a FLT - push "Compile" - than "Continue" -- and look under: Change Altitude Assignment for Waypoints.
Or..Check the Altitudes in PFEmulator - before you fly - under: Adjust Waypoints Altitutes...
2: If you ask inflight ATC for higher or lower Altitude and you climb as example 2000 ft. above your assigned Flightlevel - it is a absolutely "no go" - because PFE is forgetting you e.g. - no more descent instructions.

Hope it helps
Bye
Walter

As far as I can see PF/PFE does calculate af climb and descend profile. I tried creating a route with the build in planner in FSX. Still no luck...
