The problem here is most definitely an installation hiccup... I thought the tool tip dll was it but obviously not. George, I think the best course of action here would be to reinstall PF3. When installing please ensure you stop all other programs, especially your AV, and then configure your AV to leave the PF3 install alone. I could list all the DLL's here installed by PF3 and you could try them one at a time if you wish but all that's going to do is confirm which one it actually is and it's a long winded way of getting things back on the straight and level. |

I also have good reason to create a fpl that does not have too many wypts. The VC10 uses the CIVA INS or Doppler INS depending on the installation. In either case the CDU memory can only accept 9 wypts at a time. An ADEU card reader was developed for Concorde thus allowing all 9 wypts to be loaded at once. The RAF installed a very basic FMC on their a/c which could only handle four lines of info at a time. |

Dave, I've already done a complete rip out of the PF3 software as I've documented. Including reclaiming the space so I didn't install over an old installation. My practice is never to have other programs running when I install. I get that. I've worked with Windows since version 1.01 WAY back in the day. I also cleaned the registry using two cleaning programs as I've documented. There was no change in the results. If it is something with the OPSYS, reinstalling PF3 a 3rd time (actually 4th as I did it myself before opening this issue) will be of no consequence. As Einstein may or may not have said, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result". Doing this exercise a fourth time without changing the basic bed (opsys and/or libraries) is just busy work. I think it best to go after libraries if anything. As I installed Windows 10 as a fresh install, meaning I did not upgrade Windows 7 to 10, may portend an issue, that I've just been unlucky enough to run into, awaits other 'new' users. Note, the Windows 10 I am running has been upgraded from the Anniversary edition to the current Creators Update edition by Microsoft's hand. I would prefer to have control over updates but Microsoft believes they know better. That is another variable sadly. If one upgraded from Windows 7, one might be covered without realizing it. I can't go back or more to the point due to the time and effort involved, won't go back to Windows 7 or Windows 10 Anniversary Edition. I'm where Microsoft wants me to be and with the ugliness of malware that's out there, I don't want to risk further exposure. Am already exposed, IMO, by only running Windows Defender (I ripped out Bitdefender before doing the FSX:SE install several weeks ago). I am willing to work on library/dll issues or anything else meaningful with you. No problem doing that. Is there no way to trap a 91 and dump pertinent memory/control blocks? There is another piece of software that I've been unable to update, LINDA, as the newest release breaks usage of my Saitek hardware. But that is within the confines of the FSX:SE world. PF3 is having the 91 issue outside of FSX:SE. Thanks as always for your help, George |

Hi George,Yes I could send you an interim version with some more error trapping code but when you click the 'Quick Entry Mode' option there are only a few lines of code activated. Now, I'm assuming, as you haven't confirmed either way, that you don't see a tool-tip balloon appear like this (bottom right)? The only relevant code activated at this point that could cause your error is this....
So, first please check this file is resident on your PC and then check it is registered. Also these are the supporting files installed into your Windows System folder but I really don't believe any of these could be the casue of the problem. 10Tec_hTooltip_100.dll AResize.ocx CMDLGD6.dll dblist32.Ocx MSINET.Ocx MSWINSCK.ocx PolarZIPLight.dll PRNGMIT.dll SCLabel.ocx SGPView4.ocx SkinCrafter2.dll vbsendmail.dll mbprgbar.ocx advapi32.dll These are the supporting file installed into your main PF3 folder and again I do not believe any of these to be the cause of your particular issue. FPP_NET.dll GeoAPI.dll NetTopologySuite.dll PFE_Net.dll PowerCollections.dll dna.dll GDIPlus.dll MFC42.dll MSVCRT.dll MSVCP60.dll I wait with baited breath |

Checking off the libraries, their date of modification and size: These are located in C:\Windows\syswow64 10Tec_hTooltip_100.dll 16-Sep-08 84.0KB AResize.ocx 13-Apr-05 324KB CMDLGD6.dll 22-Jun-03 92.0KB dblist32.Ocx 16-Feb-10 217KB MSINET.Ocx 20-Jun-05 129KB MSWINSCK.ocx 16-Feb-10 123KB PolarZIPLight.dll 13-Nov-03 312KB PRNGMIT.dll 19-Apr-01 52.0KB SCLabel.ocx 12-Nov-04 36.0KB SGPView4.ocx 30-May-02 860KB SkinCrafter2.dll 25-Jun-07 464KB vbsendmail.dll 05-Sep-03 136KB mbprgbar.ocx 09-Jul-00 104KB advapi32.dll 18-Mar-17 469KB Following libraries are in D:\FS_Addons\PF3\ FPP_NET.dll 09-May-16 24KB GeoAPI.dll 24-Sep-15 58KB NetTopologySuite.dll 24-Sep-15 552KB PFE_Net.dll 30-Oct-09 15KB PowerCollections.dll 24-Sep-15 186KB dna.dll 01-Jan-13 2,161KB GDIPlus.dll 20-Sep-13 1,661KB MFC42.dll 11-Mar-11 1,111KB MSVCRT.dll 29-Jul-15 261KB MSVCP60.dll 26-Jul-10 404KB There is one DLL that sticks out: advapi32.dll as it has a relatively recent modified date. Perhaps newer that the one you use? Also you indicated an older date for the 10Tec_hTooltip_100.dll DLL. I found a couple of the Com32Ctl.dll files in folders under \Windows\WinSxS\... C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft-windows-shell-comctl32-v5_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.15063.0_none_ee915cb65868cbac\comctl32.dll 11-Jul-17 13 KB C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-shell-comctl32-v5_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.15063.0_none_4aaff83a10c63ce2\comctl32.dll 11-Jul-17 15KB C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.15063.483_none_26002d27e7c744a2\comctl32.dll 07-Jul-17 egkk 2,442KB Only the last one of the three has detail information. File version: 6.10.15063.483. It also gives Product name: Microsoft Windows Operating System Product version: 10.0.15063.483. You mention that it should be version 5.8. It would appear that I'm using version 6.10.15063.483? Regarding the Quick Edit Mode box. It never appears on a failing flight plan, the 91 error box comes up instead at the time I click the Activate quick-entry mode box. Have not verified that the com32ctl.dll is registered as I don't know which one should be done, all three? and any special command or just the regSvr32 command? This is a start! Thx for your help and let me know what you need me to do next. Waiting with baited breath is fine, neither of us should hold ours however ![]() Cheers, George |

I have 2017-07-07 for this file on Windows 7, so it seems this has recently been upgraded and probably isn't the culprit. |

Perhaps ThomasAH or perhaps it was modified for Windows 10 although patched in Windows 7. Will continue looking. |

Yes indeed... the 10Tec_hTooltip_100.dll doesn't appear to be registered on your system of one of it's dependencies, like Com32Ctl.dll |
