Not getting it!

I have opened it up in notepad but not sure what to do? Am i pasting my star from pfpx to it?
No.

Start FSX. Select flight planner. Select load. Find your EGKK-EGPH flightplan and load it. Then edit it as I described above.

Is it normal for ATC to vector you off the STAR before completing it?

It is up to you. For maximum reality then yes. But it will depend on how far the last waypoint is from the airport and whether you want to be vectored to final or not. If the last waypoint (before the STAR begins) is about 30 nm from the airport and you want to be vectored there is no point in adding STAr waypoints as you will be receiving vectors just as you begin your STAR. If the last waypoint is 100 nm from the airport then you do need to add STAR waypoints so that your last waypoint is about30nm from the destination.

Totally normal both in the sim and in real life.

Whu does it matter if its 100 nm away?

Because after you reach your last waypoint in PFE you will get vectors to finals, OR you are told you are cleared to finals yourself (if you selected that option)

It is unrealistic for this to happen 100nm from the airport, and I dont even know if PFE will handle this well. That is why the last waypoint in your plan should be about 30nm from the airport.

Every waypoint in pfpx is always reasonable from the airport so don't think i'll bother adding waypoints!

Also if you vector yourself in the sids and stars page you have alt boxes you can fill in - FAF ALT and TRANS ALT whats the point in these if your going to be vectoring yourself?

Still can't get to grips of understanding adding waypoints! So lets say you last waypoint is 100 nm away can you not just add a star in your flight plan my case pfpx and that'll connect it up?
