Please please please stop using the quote button to make a reply, look at the bottom left hand corner of the page and press the POSTREPLY button. I have just spent 15 minutes tidying up your posts to make them readable. Thanks :D

Also when you post the contents of an ini file please highlight all the text (as if you were about to copy it) after you have posted it into the thread and then press the CODE button which is just above the message composition window, this will put the long ini file into a scrollable text box which will make the page much easier to read and far shorter ;)

There is also no need to post the whole ini again just to show some changes you have made, it would suffice if you just posted a couple of lines either side of your edit as Dave will know what you are on about.

Dave will have to reply further to your problems as I haven't got the time I am afraid.

This is a new one for me....did two flights w/ PFE and all was working well until into my flight I lost most of my panel functions in 2d mode and almost all key board functions as well. When I went to VC mode the panel functions lost in 2d were working and the only way to get the 2d panel functions to work again was to re-arrange panels on the screen. When I put them back where I usually lay things out the functions were lost once again. the problem seems to occur once I have reached my crz alt and sometime into flight. Exiting PFE did not fix the problem. I am sure this is not a system problem as was noted in some researching I did as I run RCv and other programs w/out any problem and my new system is quad core 8 gb ram and so on....do you have any ideas on this one?

Both flights resulted in the same functions lost...I was able to finish both flights. :?

Try a flight without even starting PFE, if the problem still exists then its not caused by PFE. To me it sounds like you have a hosed Windows 7 install, that's why you could not even install PFE correctly in the first instance. If I were you I would bite the bullet and start over from the beginning and format all your HDD's. Just do some research on how to install FSX correctly though before you start and get it perfect this time.

Do a search for Nick Needham, he has some excellent tutorials for how to set up PCs for use with FSX, he even goes into detail on how to install FSX correctly too. Just remember to turn off UAC and disable any anti virus software in W7/Vista and dont install FSX to the default program files folders, use C:\FSX or D:\FSX instead and also try and keep FSX off of the OS drive too, unless its an SSD drive in which case it doesn't matter so much.

I am using FS9 and I do not experience this problem except when running PFE, 2 fligths two mishaps....Everything else runs as it should, I have done over 25 flights since getting this new system w/out a hitch. I except your advice but I won't re-format for one program...It is tooooo much work to go through all this again. I had a second computer until yesterday and my external hard drive will not hold everything and much of the things I have cannot be replaced since hacker problem last year w/ scenery site. I can't say for sure but I would have to believe that some other program for whatever reason is causing this problem w/ PFE, maybe even 64 bit windows 7, I don't know. But Thank you for your help and suggestions.

Ah right, sorry you have only just mentioned that fact just now so I presumed you were using FSX, in that case the only thing I can suggest is that you still make sure FS9 isn't installed in the default program files folders and that you have turned off UAC in Windows 7, if you don't FS9 has no chance of working correctly as it's was never designed to run on such a complex OS.

Also don't forget to install the patch FS9.1 and the latest version of FSUIPC.

No its not, if you insist on not turning off UAC then you must install FS9 to a none default location as I mentioned a couple of posts ago, for example C:\FS9, C:\FS2004 or similar would be fine. I still highly recommend you turn off UAC altogether though if you want Windows 7 or Windows Vista to allow FSX or FS9 and its associated third party applications to function correctly. If you don't know what UAC is/means then a quick search on Google for "UAC" will give you more information.

I disabled the UAC using the slider to never notify before installing FS9.
