Dave I've included everything I know in this thread. ![]() To make it more clear I was flying out of AMS's Cancun scenery last Saturday and while over the Gulf of Mexico FS9 crashed. Ever since launching FDE results in a 'Run-Time error 5' crash at the intro screen like I said above. |

Can you still use/fly FS9? Delete FDC again and also locate the folder {1E147940-xxx-xxxx} in C:\program Files(x86)\ Installshield installation Information, (in windows 7) make sure show hidden files/folders is activated. It may look something like this(mine starts with these numbers) followed by dashes and lots of numbers,if you can't find it then it's been deleted by the auto uninstaller. Open the folder and click on setup (config settings) it will say FDC Livecockpit or similar in AppName. If successful in locating and deleting folder, then re-boot your system and reinstall FDC. If not then it sounds like a system file has got out of place and is corrupting FS9 along with FDC... |

I can still use FS9. I use Windows XP and can't seem to find the folder you mention above. |

I stand corrected, I found the folder you mentioned but the setup file isn't there. |

Looks like the setup file was deleted in the above mentioned folder but other files from FDC were present. I was hoping with this reality that I found the problem. I deleted the folder, uninstalled FDC, rebooted the machine, reinstalled FDC only to find the problem is still there. ![]() Again I can still use FS9, Activesky Evolution etc with no problem, it's only FDC that's giving me the 'Run-time 5' error. |

Can you do a system restore to an earlier point before all of this took place... |

I tried that a couple of times and it had no effect on the problem. |

Have you tried to repair your system using windows xp disc? I personally think it's a system file thats got corrupted,so until you decide to reinstall windows and all your addons, this is about the last thing to try,on my part anyway...unless Dave M has a solution...sorry! |

Can you at least tell me what the service, utility, feature etc in WindowsXP FDC is looking for when it's pulling up the gui after the splash screen is shown? That would give me a clue where to look for the problem. |

Hi Dillon, maybe something to try : Go to your FDC folder and run the following: PFE_V312_System.exe & Sysinfo_inst.exe |
