Hi. I'm on V3.14 as downloaded from Aerosoft. I believe 3.14 is the latest? Chris |

Hi. I'm still having no joy getting FDC 3.14 to run. Is it necessary to patch with the Aerosoft version? The installer states it is v3.14. I have also run Process Monitor whilst executing FDC.exe. I have seen the likes of the following, I don't know if they're of significance: • buffer overflow when accessing fonts • several parts of the registry in the system folder and wow64 folder can't be accessed. I have UAC off and have cascaded Full Control through all my FSX folders, so permission to read write shouldn't be an issue. I haven't done this to my system folders. Is that necessary? Chris |

Hi Chris, If you're using FDC 3.14 you have the latest version. Is your system set to use a lightly larger font than the default? If so FDC will not like that at all. Also it is best NOT to install FS or FDC into the Program Files folder as Win 7 can and does mess with things at times |

Hi, I'm on Vista 64 and the system font is standard as far as I'm aware (I haven't changed it). FDC is installed on a drive independent of the OS drive and FSX has it's own drive. I have also tried installing FDC on the same drive as FSX and this made no difference. It is basically getting as far as the FDC flash screen, which appears for a couple of seconds. Then nothing. FDC.exe never appears as a running process in Task Manager. Process Monitor shows numerous activities in the couple of seconds FDC.exe is running. Would any of that output be useful? Chris |

Hi. Tonight I have reinstalled as Admin and run as Admin and same result; the program won't launch. Could it be an FSUIPC issue? Does it need to be a registered version? Chris |

Is there anything I can do to debug this issue? Chris |

Chris what Anti Virus software do you use? If it's AVG please un-install it before downloading and reinstalling FDC again. Yes its drastic I know but AVG is bloody awful these days and nowhere near as good as it used to be a few years ago, I recommend you get something better like NOD32 from ESET. |

Andydigital:: I used to have Nortin anti virus..Had problems running PFE with it... Dave M. suggested AVG. I am now on my second year with AVG and no problems... Of course I am using Windows XP and FS2004...Older but reliable.. I hate the idea that AVG may be a problem...... Ray Lunning |

Once FDC or PFE is installed and working properly and if you set up exclusions within the anti virus program so that they don't interfere you could reinstall AVG if you wish, we don't even know if Chris is using AVG though, lets wait and see what he has to say. |
