Can you post the log from this most recent flight so we can take a look? The original log you posted above does not show this, and shows only a single XXX waypoint (entering Vancouver Center) about 221 miles before BOOTH. [WP3] sWPID=BINVO sWPAlt=38000 Dist=96 [WP4] sWPID=XXX sWPAlt=38000 Dist=103 [WP5] sWPID=BOOTH sWPAlt=20000 Dist=324 EDIT: Looks like Dave and I were posting at the same time! ![]() |

I added the old debug_monitor file as I believe I deleted the original when opening PF3 again after the flight to check altitudes. It seems PF3 is maintaining the altitudes it originally calculates. the 5th XXX waypoint is only 7 miles from BOOTH and was set at FL340 by PF3. I changed BOOTH from FL310 to FL230 assuming that PF3 would recalculate its added waypoints, but I guess it doesn't. BOOTH consequently was passed at FL310, VITEV at FL280 instead of the adjusted FL210 which the approach plates indicate for runway 8R etc. Hence the whole approach was too high. The first logfile was for a 26R approach, hence the different altitudes. Hope this logfiles shows it. Thanks, Menno |

When you change a waypoint altitude on the flight plan page, PF3 does NOT automatically change other waypoint altitudes (see page 85 of the User Guide). You need to check the altitudes of adjacent waypoints (including XXX) to make sure you have a reasonable descent profile. If you hover your cursor over the waypoint names, a popup will show the distances to adjacent waypoints as well as to the airport, and you can adjust the other altitudes accordingly. |

Ok, thanks for the reply. That explains it, but I think that when the program adds waypoints that are not in the flightplan, it should recalculate them too should the altitude of airway waypoints be altered. As a user I am not interested in the added waypoints. I hope this can be part of a future update. |
