Very very strange.

This would confirm that PF3 was quite confused at that point.

Can you configure your keypad to wait 1-2 seconds longer between the VCP mode switch and requesting take-off?

Dave, do you have an idea why this happens?
Unfortunately no. Very weird!

I could, but frankly I don't think that it would make a lot of difference as the pause between macros is already 5-6 seconds, which should be more than long enough. If the macro instruction to go to mode 2 is not going to work in PF3 (which as I say is perhaps 10% of the time), my experiments (and I have experimented with delays and commands over the past several months) show that whatever the delay, it just won't happen, no matter how long I make the pause.

I'll do some checking here to see if I can recreate it... it's not a feature I use, in fact I don''t think I've ever switched modes so I would have never noticed a problem. It must be an internal timing issue because the code doesn't change on its own and if it works 90% of the time it's certainly not going to be easy to capture. But hey, what else would I rather be doing?

Of course there is one more variable here that 'could' have a bearing on this intermittent problem. We're not dealing with FS9, FSX or P3D are we? Nor are we working with FSUIPC. Xplane and XSUIPC have to be factored in and I don't have either, so attempting to recreate the problem would be somewhat difficult if not futile.

Does XSUIPC have any logging facilities you could use and put in place to help pinpoint the issue? We can see from our logging that the relevant hotkey worked and as far as PF3 was concerned it executed correctly... the rest was then in the lap of the gods or XSUIPC to be more specific.

Just another thought

The X-Plane version of XPUIPC creates a log but it is just a couple of lines giving the time of connection to XP11 - I don't know if one can change the output to verbose or not. I'll check and post one if so. You sure it's XPUIPC which is relevant for XP11 and not PFEtoXplane (which doesn't seem to create a log - I can't find one anyway)?

Have just started moving to the latest version of X-Plane, v11.50, which uses Vulkan/Metal to render the graphics.. a big update and not everything is working yet, so there might be a delay before I can fly again and let you know.. but I guess you'll be able to find something else to do in the interim, Dave!

No I'm not sure Martin. I don't know anything about XSUIPC or PFEtoXPlane. What's the difference. Do you only use one of them or both?
