Hi Andrew,

Well I never use that feature myself but I know some that do so perhaps they could confirm that the feature does still work and that I haven't broken anything in 2.14.

You are using 2.14 aren't you?
Dave, I am using the latest version and this occurred with all versions I have had. I have not always had the setting on 100% though. It is not a big deal really but it would be great to occasionally to be directed to hold. :D

Thanks

Hi Andrew,

Please try setting the hold percentage to 100% and let me know what happens

With regard the Direct to.... you already have that facility for any waypoint in the flight plan and I've just added the 'Direct to Airport' to my list ;-)
Dave, regarding never being placed in a holding pattern, I set it to 100% and still am never requested to hold. As you can see the original post was submitted in February so I have completed many flights with PFE since then with the same result.
Thanks

I have mine on 3% and was issued a hold enroute to Heathrow. How much AI traffic do you have?

Hi Andrew,

A hold will only occur at a VOR so maybe that's why you haven't received that many

Dave,

As you kow I do use the hold feature. I would need to check this but, I think if the hold % is on Zero then one does not get a hol. If is set to anything above zero then one can expect a hold. The chances of a hold do not seem to be affected byb the %. It acts like an on off switch.

There are certain routes where I often get a hold EGGd to EIDW and EGGD to EGAC to name but two. I usually get a hold prior to the Dublin VOR.

I'll check this out a bit more when I get a chance.

One thing is certain, there will only be one hold per flight.

Best

Quite often on published STAR's there is an obligatory hold (unless ATC instruct otherwise) for example at BIG. This allows for a/c to descend to the correct height to procede with the published STAR and to stack them at busy times. Perhaps in a future release of PFE where a STAR is added to the PFE flightplan there could be added a "flag" to force a holding point or not.
