Just a question, is there voice support for the native Windows voice recognition ( I'm on WIN 10 )? Or is this something that is a future integration?

Cheers Rob
No, Windows integrated speech recognition won't let you do that.

Right now, MCE is one option for you. That puts PFE on a par with VoxATC as far as speech reco is concerned.

No need to setup anything, like creating countless profiles and such.

MCE picks up the current call-sign, works out what hotkeys are used and lets you speak proper ATC phraseology (with built-in flexibility to allow for variations).

Right now MCE only handles older PFE (V2.15).

We are in the process of adapting it to PF3. Should be GO before the end of this month.

The PFEtoXPlane (which lets you use PFE with X-Plane) will also be updated to recognize and work with PF3.

Sounds very interesting indeed. Time to finally take a closer look at MCE. ;)
Could you tell a little more about what MCE does regarding the PF3-ATC communication.
For example will it be possible to "request flightlevel 340" instead of "2000 higher"? Or "request ILS 26L" without skipping through the runways with "no" and "yes"?
Thank you.

Thanks Everyone,

I'll wait until the MCE update becomes available and then I'll give both items demos a go :)

Thank you all for your help and advice and also your patience :)

Things work the way you expect them to.

For example, you are on ground and have been assigned a specific runway for takeoff. You want a different one? No problem

"Heathrow ground KLM 143 requesting runway two seven left for departure" (I know, you will never see such request granted at Heathrow  )

MCE will then perform the folllowing.

It triggers hotkey for runway request,
Waits for the text in ATC window to change then reads it.
If the runway you requested is part of the text, it will trigger hotkey for "Yes".
If not, it will trigger hotkey for "No", wait for next runway etc...

We wouldn't call it voice control if you had to say stupid things like "request runway change", "press yes" or "next runway" etc...

Thank you very much for this explanation. That was exactly what I wanted to know.
Sounds great. Can't wait to test MCE with PF3. Is there a rough release timescale for the update to make MCE work with PF3?

Really? What does exactly make it so different for you? And you are right, "you will never see such request granted at Heathrow", soo...
